A Spiritual Visit to Ramdevra Temple

Our first destination was Ramdevra Temple, one of the most respected pilgrimage sites in Rajasthan. As part of our Rajasthan-Road-Trip:-Ramdevra-Bikaner-And-Udaipur, we were excited to begin our journey at this sacred pilgrimage site. The temple was extremely crowded, and our group of 11 friends had to navigate through large crowds of devotees.
Baba Ramdevji is popularly known as the “God of All Communities.” Many devotees believe that offering prayers here helps remove obstacles from life and fulfills sincere wishes. We also offered our prayers and sought blessings for our future goals and success.
After completing our darshan, nine of us enjoyed a refreshing glass of Siknji, while the remaining two friends had fresh lemon juice. The drinks were simple but refreshing, and everyone agreed that the taste felt unique in the spiritual atmosphere of Ramdevra.
We spent time exploring the temple area, enjoying local food, and relaxing before continuing our journey. This spiritual experience became one of the most memorable moments of our Rajasthan-Road-Trip:-Ramdevra-Bikaner-And-Udaipur, making it a perfect start to our Rajasthan adventure.

Road Trip to Karni Mata Temple
At around 12:30 PM, our group left Ramdevra in two cars and began the next phase of our Rajasthan-Road-Trip:-Ramdevra-Bikaner-And-Udaipur. Our destination was the famous Karni Mata Temple near Bikaner, located approximately 190 kilometers from Ramdevra.
The drive was long but exciting, with beautiful Rajasthan landscapes along the way. To make the journey more enjoyable during our Rajasthan-Road-Trip:-Ramdevra-Bikaner-And-Udaipur, one of my friends, Harry, entertained us by sharing a funny story from his college days..
Harry’s Funny Exam Story
Harry recalled an incident that happened during one of his college examinations.
About an hour into the exam, the college head entered the classroom for an inspection. Harry kept his head down and continued writing, hoping not to attract attention. Unfortunately, the head noticed that he was using a cheat sheet.
Harry apologized immediately, but the teacher ordered him to leave the examination hall. Just then, another teacher called the head away for some urgent work. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Harry quickly collected all the cheat sheets hidden under his desk and left the classroom.
The story made everyone laugh and helped make the journey more enjoyable.
Lunch Break Before Bikaner
A few hours later, when we were about 60 kilometers away from Bikaner, we stopped for lunch. Unfortunately, the food was not as good as we expected. After a short meal, we paid the bill and continued our journey.
Exploring Karni Mata Temple
One of our friends had a friend living in Bikaner, so we contacted him for directions. From Bikaner, Karni Mata Temple was approximately 20 kilometers away.
After arriving at the temple, we spoke with a local resident who shared the fascinating history of Karni Mata.
According to local beliefs, Karni Mata was born into the Charan community and guided several Rajput kingdoms throughout Rajasthan. She promoted compassion, justice, and spirituality and played a significant role in establishing Deshnok village in 1419.
The Famous Rats of Karni Mata Temple
Upon entering the temple, we were amazed to see thousands of rats freely moving around the premises. Surprisingly, they did not disturb or harm any visitors.
According to local legend, a child from Karni Mata’s family passed away. She requested Yama, the God of Death, to bring the child back to life. Since then, it has been believed that her followers are reborn first as rats and later as humans. Because of this belief, the rats are considered sacred.
Local devotees also told us that among the thousands of black rats, a few rare white rats can sometimes be seen. Spotting a white rat is considered a sign of good luck and divine blessings.
Staying in Bikaner
After completing our darshan at Karni Mata Temple, we returned to Bikaner around 6:00 PM. This part of our Rajasthan-Road-Trip:-Ramdevra-Bikaner-And-Udaipur was filled with memorable experiences and beautiful moments with friends.
We called our local friend to ask for a place to stay, and he recommended a farm owned by one of his friends. After a long day of traveling, it sounded like the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The distance from Bikaner to Udaipur was nearly 500 kilometers, making it one of the longest drives of our journey. Although the road trip was long, the beautiful landscapes and excitement of reaching Udaipur kept our energy high. After several hours on the road, we finally arrived in Udaipur at around 7:00 PM.

During our Rajasthan-Road-Trip:-Ramdevra-Bikaner-And-Udaipur, Vinayak Retreat Villa was one of the best accommodations we experienced. The villa offered excellent facilities, a peaceful atmosphere, and the perfect environment to relax after a long day of traveling.
